It's On.....

This is it!  Something triggered me to make cleaning and reorganizing my new hobby.  It's been attempted many times in the past, but something different is going on this time.  With all of the changes I've made in the last 22 months, it's no wonder that this is a part of it.  I'm looking around at my surroundings with new eyes and it's amazing.

New Year, New Lives
January, 2023

Heartbreak is a doozy.  Heartbroken over losing Simone a little over a month ago, we brought new lights into our home.  There was a huge void!  It was so huge, it is taking two lights to help comfort us (no cat will ever replace another; that's not how it works).   It wasn't intentional; is it ever?  First Cristal, and then Sapphire.

Hard to believe we're winding down another year.  I don't know if ANYONE even looks at my website besides me; I've been doing some cool work on it behind the scenes, but here's a holiday wish now.  I hope it isn't May before I update it again...

We were going to wait.  But, the heart needs what the heart needs, as a good friend said, reacting to our adoption.  We miss Simone horribly, and she will forever leave a hole in our hearts.  Cristal brings a light into the house in the form of a bouncing, delightful energetic "muffin on legs."

Saying Goodbye is So Hard

Simone was the quirkiest cat I ever had.  A Siamese mix, she did a lot of really unique things - her most memorable was standing up and waving her arms together - looked like she was ringing a bell.  We had to say goodbye to her yesterday, November 25, 2022.  Black Friday. The Blackest Friday yet.

My last post was all about going under the knife and I was scared.  It went pretty well, actually.  The worst part was having an IV put in my hand; my veins where you usually get an IV are great, but my hand was a bit of rolly roll.  OUCH.

So, tomorrow, I will be going under the knife to address "a couple of issues" that have been a problem for me for many, many years.  I'm a little bit scared; I guess this is normal.  But, I've been through a battery of tests that show my body is ready to go for this!

So I have been playing with resin for a long time now; just did a little here and there.  I made a tray to begin with (did a mosaiac on a $2 yard sale tray) then poured about 1/16" of resin over it and loved it....then I did a lot of votive cups with resin and a candle cup in them...and in December, 2021, I started playing with molds and colors, and it all broke loose!

End of an Era
March, 2022

It seems like the older I get, the more "end of an era" declarations are experienced.  Here's another one...this is so sad!  I am an avid listener of KRTY and enjoy country music.  It is NOT the twangy stuff of yesteryear; it resembles the rock and roll I grew up on - and many of today's artists grew up on the same, and it's shaped today's country music.  Once upon a time, I worked for Empire Broadcasting - the company that has owned KRTY since the early 1990's.  Hearing that the station is now sold is a shame - it's our only Country Station in the Bay area.

I Go To Eleven

I decided to get a cool domain name...Spinal Tap's "Ours go to Eleven" has become a part of our pop culture; and I'm sure many young people don't know where that "goes to eleven" concept came from.  I recently made a wooden sign that has a knob I printed out on my 3D printer and the dial is for creativity.  My caption says"Here...(and then you see the dial turned to eleven) goes to eleven...anyway, you get the gist.  I am sitting here trying to type with 8 stitches in my mouse hand.  Ugh.
