Meet Augustus

I have always wanted a CA Desert tortoise. My uncle had one and I saved and saved and by the time I had enough money, the sale was outlawed of CA Desert Tortoises. I recently decided to look into adoption as that is legal.
I initially named him "Mountain Man" after Duck Dynasty's character, Tim G. because he moves so slow and Mountain Man talks so slow...but then he seemed to rename himself "Augustus" the very next day. He is a delight. He tends to follow me around and eats out of my hand. He surprised me this afternoon when he discovered the garden wagon and began bobbing his head at it. This means he is either challenging it or trying to mate with it(!)
I'd better go check on him to see if he is done head bobbing....great animal and he weeds and mows! Brutus didn't know what to make of him but soon got bored. No threat there at all!
