ANNOYING Christmas Song

I have a memory of being about 3 or 4 years old, and the doorbell rang, and there was a huge group of Christmas Carolers on the porch.  They were singing "We Wish You a Merry Christmas" and holding out a can (for donations).  I didn't know what to do; a little kid doesn't have any money, so I closed the door and they wouldn't go away!

I went and got my parents and I guess they handled it, but later in life, I heard all of the verses of that song and realized how ANNOYING it is:

We wish you a Merry Christmas;

Good tidings for Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Now this is what gets me:

HOW RUDE!

Kind of takes me back to Saturday Night Live in the 80s - "The Thing that Wouldn't Leave..."
